After electrifying game-winning TD, Chiefs’ Travis Kelce got a shout-out from LeBron James
As twists followed turns which followed twists (and so on) on Thursday night, Lakers star LeBron James was mesmerized.
Amazing indeed, and things only got wilder as the Chiefs forced overtime on tight end Travis Kelce’s 7-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Kelce and Mahomes both know James, the four-time NBA champion. Earlier this year, Kelce extended an invitation to the 2022 Tight End University gathering. Kelce started that teaching seminar with the 49ers’ George Kittle and former NFL tight end Greg Olsen with the hopes it can become an annual event.
Given the familiarity with Kelce, James tweeted this after Kelce tied Thursday’s game:
In overtime, Kelce zigged, zagged and ran through the Chargers defense for the game-winning 34-yard touchdown reception.
That led James to give Kelce a shout-out and quote a famous “Chappelle’s Show” skit about Prince.
