‘This is fun football.’ Chiefs’ Creed Humphrey was mic’d-up during win over Raiders
Success doesn’t appear to be going to the head of Chiefs rookie Creed Humphrey.
Humphrey is the highest-ranked center, according to Pro Football Focus, and a case can be made that he’s been the NFL’s best rookie.
But you watch and listen to him on the field, and Humphrey is mostly focused on his job. But that doesn’t mean he there are not any moments of levity, as a video the Chiefs shared shows.
Humphrey was mic’d-up Sunday during the Chiefs’ 48-9 win over the Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium.
Among the highlights:
After Josh Gordon’s touchdown reception gave the Chiefs a 28-0 lead in the second quarter, Humphrey said: “This is fun football.”
On the sideline ahead of the second half, Humphrey said to guard Joe Thuney, “Think of Gladiator, Joe. Think of Gladiator. Let’s go.” We’ll let you guess what he meant by that movie reference.
As the Chiefs continued to put the petal to the metal, Humphrey said: ”Dominance baby, that’s how we do it.”
It’s a fun video, and a good look at a day in the life of an NFL offensive lineman.
