Dad-to-be Patrick Mahomes knows which Chiefs teammate he’d ask to babysit
Well, we already know Matt Moore can be a capable replacement for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in a pinch.
Moore filled in for Mahomes for 2 1/2 games a year ago, and finished off a win over the Broncos, beat the Vikings and went toe-to-toe with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
Now Mahomes and his fiancee Brittany Matthews are expecting their first child, and Mahomes was asked Wednesday which teammate he might view as an uncle who could be asked to baby-sit.
“As far as like an uncle, I would say like Matt Moore or someone like that that’s responsible,” Mahomes said. “I can’t let Trav (Travis Kelce) or anybody like that do it, I mean we never know what would happen.”
Mahomes grinned after mentioning his friend Kelce wouldn’t make the cut.
It’s been a great year for Mahomes, who was the Super Bowl MVP, received a gigantic contract extension, got engaged and found out he’d be a father.
“Yeah, I mean it’s extremely exciting,” Mahomes said. “I mean, being able to kind of grow up and have these dreams of having a family and playing in the NFL. For that stuff to start happening and really coming into truth and everything like that, I mean it’s really cool.
“So I’m just excited that I have a lot of great people around me, and I’m in a great organization and I’m able to live out these dreams day by day.”
