Chiefs offensive lineman Eric Fisher catches pass, scores Big Man TD

The Chiefs’ first overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft finally scored a touchdown.

OK, no one really expected offensive lineman Eric Fisher to score a touchdown in his career. But there he was rumbling into the end zone after catching a 2-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

It came against the Ravens in the “Monday Night Football” game at M&T Stadium in Baltimore. Here is the play:

Fisher, who is 6 foot 7 and 315 pounds, showed his athleticism but jumping to make the grab.

Todd Leabo of WHB (810 AM) shared a video that showed Fisher making sure his hands were clean before the play:

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted that Fisher is the first No. 1 overall pick to catch a touchdown pass since Keyshawn Johnson, who retired after the 2006 season.

The touchdown on the tackle eligible play was huge. It capped a drive and gave the Chiefs a 34-20 lead after Baltimore had cut the lead to seven points. That ended up being the final score.

Unfortunately, there were no fans in the stands to share a beer for Fisher to celebrate properly.
