For Pete's Sake

Here is the biggest hit and best catch of Alex Gordon’s career with the Royals

There aren’t many Royals fans who would oppose the team erecting a statue of left fielder Alex Gordon at Kauffman Stadium.

Royals insider Josh Vernier of KCSP (610 AM) thinks that statue should be of Gordon making a defensive play. Gordon has won seven Gold Glove awards and, well, this might be the best catch of his career:

It’s not often that Royals announcer Ryan Lefebvre says during a TV broadcast, “Did you see that?” And the White Sox fans applauded their player making an out.

But the natural choice for a statue would be of Gordon pointing after hitting a game-tying home run off the Mets’ Jeurys Familia in the 2015 World Series.

This was one of the biggest hits in franchise history:

The Royals ended up winning the game in 14 innings and were the World Series champions less than a week later.
