Royals players and fans pay tribute to Alex Gordon after retirement announcement

Whit Merrifield and Alex Gordon have stalls next to one another, so one can only imagine the secrets, tips and laughs that have been shared through the years.
On Thursday, Merrifield shared a special message about his friend after Gordon announced his retirement.
“If you guys only knew how much this man means to this organization,” Merrifield wrote on Instagram. “What a career. Selfishly, this one really hurts. Gonna miss you locker mate. Enjoy this next chapter. Love you always my brother. Time to build the statue!”
