For Pete's Sake

NFL fans, reporters express disgust with Chiefs fans booing during unity moment

Unsurprisingly, the actions of the Chiefs and Texans players before Thursday night’s game was closely viewed.

It also drew a strong reaction from fans.

Chiefs remained on the field and locked arms during the playing of the “Black anthem” (the song “Lift Every Voice And Sing.”)

During the national anthem, the Texans players weren’t on the field and before the coin toss, players from both teams locked arms for a moment of unity.

The pregame activities drew a fair amount of criticism on social media, but many also showed their support.

But the most polarizing moment was about Chiefs fans. Specificially those at Arrowhead Stadium who could be heard booing during the moment of unity.
