Hunt Sports executive hints that Chiefs will get Super Bowl rings this week

In a normal year, members of a Super Bowl championship team receive their rings in June.

Alas, 2020 has been unlike any year most of us have seen so the Chiefs have yet to get their prize.

The Chiefs, winners of Super Bowl LIV, have been biding their time until receiving their rings, but the wait may soon be over. Ryan Petkoff, the senior vice president of brand development and communications for the Hunt Sports Group, tweeted this message on Sunday:

On Saturday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked by reporters when the rings might arrive.

“We get the Super Bowl rings here pretty quick,” Reid said. “I think they’re going to probably announce that here somewhere. I’m going to leave that up to Ted (Crews, vice president of communications) to announce it, put the pressure back on him, but it’s coming and our players are fired up about it, and it should be a great evening and an opportunity then to move forward and kind of put that behind you and get ready for the next season.”

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce told “Fox Football Now” in May that he got a look at the design of the rings.

“I was very fortunate that I got asked to just peek at it and give my thoughts,” Kelce said at the time. “I feel like anything would be appreciated at this point. You know, you just want to have the hardware, to reminisce and, you know what I mean, put a ring on your finger like you’ve always wanted to in life.

“Sure enough, just to see it on paper, I can only imagine how beautiful it’s going to look in person.”

On Saturday, the Chiefs raised their 2019 Super Bowl championship flag at Arrowhead Stadium.
