A breakdown of Patrick Mahomes’ contract and explaining ‘guaranteed mechanisms’

Patrick Mahomes was one of the most searched names Monday on Google.

There’s little wonder after Mahomes signed a 10-year contract extension worth up to $503 million with the Chiefs.

Google’s data shows a spike in the term “guaranteed mechanisms” in the late afternoon. The reason? The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and others used that phrase when describing Mahomes’ contract.
