Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes says he’s ready to try a QB sneak again. Fans aren’t so sure.

As Del Griffith sagely noted after driving a car between two oncoming semi-trailer trucks in “Planes, Trains and Automobiles:” “We can laugh about it now, we’re all right.”

Chiefs fans can take the same attitude with Patrick Mahomes’ quarterback sneak during a 30-6 win at Denver on Oct. 17. Mahomes suffered a freak injury as his kneecap was dislocated.

Mahomes missed two regular-season games, but came back to start the final seven contests and all three playoff games, including Super Bowl LIV.

During those 10 games, Mahomes never tried a quarterback sneak, but he’s ready to get back on the horse.

On Thursday, Carrington Harrison of KCSP (610 AM) tweeted a poll that asked “4th and Goal from the 1 yard line. Chiefs are going for it. What’s your play call?” The options: A Mahomes QB sneak, pass to tight end Travis Kelce or a run by rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

The quarterback sneak option was trailing badly until Mahomes spoke up:

So there it is: Mahomes isn’t afraid to run a quarterback sneak again. Chiefs fans, however, had a mixed reaction to the idea:
