Justin Timberlake cites Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs’ Super Bowl comeback on ‘Hot Ones’
Has any web series boasted as many big-time stars as “Hot Ones”?
For the uninitiated, on “Hot Ones” celebrities answer questions while eating chicken wings that have been coated in hot sauce that gets spicier as the show progresses.
Among those who have appeared include actors Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Natalie Portman, Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd. Sports stars like Travis Kelce, Shaquille O’Neal, Joel Embiid and Rob Gronkowski have taken part.
The series recently wrapped up its 11th season with music star/actor Justin Timberlake, who apparently was watching Super Bowl LIV.
When asked if he was ready to try an even spicier chicken wing, Timberlake invoked the name of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“I feel like this is the turning point. This is like we only scored 10 points each in the first half and we’ve got to go full Pat Mahomes with this,” Timberlake said.
That’s a clear reference to the Super Bowl, which was tied 10-10 at halftime. The Chiefs trailed the 49ers 20-10 in the fourth quarter when Mahomes asked if there was enough protection to run “2-3 Jet Chip Wasp.”
There was, of course, and that stated a three-touchdown rally as the Chiefs won 31-20.
Here is the moment, via KCSP’s Cody Tapp, but be aware that Timberlake uses a curse word:
