Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce heeded the call of teammate Tyreek Hill to aid the community during the coronavirus pandemic.

Hill announced Monday his foundation would be helping Harvesters with a sizable donation and called on a number of teammates to help Kansas City as well.

Mahomes and Kelce stepped up Tuesday.

Kelce said he would match Hill’s contribution to Harvesters while also donating all the food and supplies needed by Operation Breakthrough, an early education center and social service facility, for 15 weeks.

Hours later, Mahomes’ foundation, 15 & the Mahomies, announced it would donate $100,000 to Kansas City public school lunch programs and local organizations that provide household goods and meals to families in need.

Mahomes said he would also be donating 15,000 meals to Harvesters.

Hill and Kelce then shared their thanks to Mahomes on Twitter:
