Tyreek Hill donates meals to those affected by coronavirus, asks teammates to do same

Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill isn’t sitting idly by as the coronavirus pandemic affects Kansas City.

With stores running low on food, Hill announced Monday he was partnering with Harvesters to donate 6,000 meals to families.

“The COVID-19 outbreak is challenging our daily lives,” Hill wrote on Twitter. “Today my foundation will be partnering with Harvesters to donate meals to families, and youth who are now without their free breakfast and lunch programs. Today, in partnership with Harvesters, I am donating 6,000 meals to our greater Kansas City community. I am challenging my teammates and our Chiefs Kingdom to help support to all those facing these unprecedented obstacles. Stay safe, stay informed and support each other.”

Hill tagged quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce, receivers Demarcus Robinson and Gehrig Dieter, defensive back Tyrann Mathieu and defensive linemen Chris Jones and Frank Clark to follow suit.

The Associated Press reported more than two-thirds of the 31 million students in the United States regularly eat school lunches.
