For Pete's Sake

Shaq stops shaving his head after losing a bet, invites hecklers to mock his hairline

There are times when friends make a bet and the winnings are something better than cash.

For instance, there’s the guy who was forced to get a “champ stamp” of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Also: the Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O’Neal wager on the outcome of Monday’s Bucks-Heat game. Wade had a simple request for correctly picking Miami.

Let your hair grow, Shaq.

And, so, on Tuesday night, O’Neal showed off his receding hairline on TNT’s NBA pregame show.

“Let’s just get it out of the way, America,” O’Neal said. “I had a bet against one of my good friends, D Wade. Milwaukee versus the Heat. I said Milwaukee was gonna win by 20 and the Heat won. I said, ‘Well, what do you want me to do, pay you?’ And he said, ‘Nah, you gotta let your hairline grow. We wanna see your hairline looking like Kenny Smith.’ So I just lined it up for you all so you all could see where my hairline starts.

“And I look good, and I’m proud to do it and I’m keeping it like this all week.”

O’Neal then invited Twitter followers to unload on him. They obliged:

Shaq had fun at his own expense, sharing an Instagram video and channeling Lou Rawls.
