Chris Jones on Chiefs repeating as Super Bowl champions: ‘It’s going to happen’
The NFL’s Franchise Tag window opened on Thursday, and that’s noteworthy for Chiefs fans because there’s a possibility one could be used on defensive lineman Chris Jones.
ESPN reported teams can use both the franchise tag or the transition tag, and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network said the Chiefs will use franchise tag on Jones.
It appears Jones is intent on staying with the Chiefs. Jones, who previously has made bold Twitter predictions that proved true, made another on Wednesday.
Jones tweeted a photo from the Chiefs’ Super Bowl championship parade in which he was holding the Lombardi Trophy. He wrote: “You know the vibes...”
A fan responded on Twitter: “Think how bad ass it would be to have one in each hand!!!”
Jones answered: “It’s going to happen.”
Jones’ last two big predictions came true.
Last February, Jones said the Chiefs would win Super Bowl LIV, and that happened*. He also said following an AFC Championship Game loss to the Patriots in 2018 that the Chiefs would return to that stage.
*You heard about that, right?
Chiefs fans would be thrilled if a third straight Twitter prediction from Jones came true.
