For Pete's Sake

The Chiefs’ end zone in Super Bowl 54 will be painted gold

It’s been a while since the Chiefs have been in the Super Bowl, so here’s a refresher course on ... the end zones.

Since the game is at a neutral site, each team will have its name in one of the end zones, and it appears the Chiefs and 49ers can pick the look for Super Bowl LIV.

For the Chiefs, that means their end zone at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami will be painted gold. That’s what was used in the home opener and two playoff games at Arrowhead Stadium, and fans seem to like them.

The gold end zones are a throwback to the Chiefs’ days in the American Football League.

Take a look at the field at Hard Rock Stadium:

The Chiefs are 3-0 with the gold end zones this season.
