Melissa Etheridge writes song to commemorate Chiefs advancing to Super Bowl LIV

Like man fans, singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge celebrated the AFC Championship Game victory that clinched the Chiefs’ spot in the Super Bowl.

Unlike most fans, she wrote a song about the Chiefs getting to Super Bowl LIV.

Etheridge grew up in Leavenworth and has worn her love of the Chiefs on her sleeve. She has previously written a song about former Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, performed the national anthem at Arrowhead Stadium and gave a shout-out to a Chiefs fan during a concert in Germany.

While on “The Dan Patrick Show” earlier this week, Etheridge debuted a brand-new song, “Chiefs are in the Super Bowl.”

Here are part of the lyrics:

So many times they broke my heart

thought I might never know

But the Chiefs just broke that playoff curse

and now they’re headed to the Super Bowl
