Mizzou student again sees tennis star he won a date with after Super Bowl bet
There were two big winners in Super Bowl LI earlier this year.
One was obviously the Patriots, who rallied from a 28-3 deficit and beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime.
The other: John Goehrke, who is listed as a senior at the University of Missouri. Goehrke won a date with tennis star Genie Bouchard after the two made a bet on Twitter.
When Atlanta jumped a big lead, Bouchard tweeted that she knew Atlanta would win. Goehrke responded by asking if she’d go on a date if the Patriots won. Bouchard agreed and the rest was history.
“I thought maybe there was a chance she would respond, but I thought there was no chance she’d actually agree to it,” Goehrke told The Star earlier this year.
Bouchard and Goehrke had their well-publicized date in February, and well, that’s where everyone thought it would end.
But on Wednesday, Bouchard tweeted this: “Look who came to visit me!”

On Thursday, Bouchard tweeted another photo of the happy couple.

That’s a whole lot of kissy emojis.
