Watch Mike Moustakas’ epic game-winning home run that beat Houston
I’m sure there are some people out there who never doubted for a minute that the Royals would win. Then again ... maybe not.
For most everyone, the Royals’ 9-7 win over the Astros on Tuesday night was a complete surprise. For Royals fans, it was a deliriously happy surprise.
Down 7-3, the Royals scored four times in the bottom of the eighth inning against the Astros and tied the game. In the bottom of the ninth inning, the first two Royals made outs when Salvador Perez singled.
Mike Moustakas stepped to the plate and capped the comeback with a 418-foot bomb to right field off Houston’s Ken Giles.
Take a look:
Teammate Eric Hosmer was fired up about the win. This is what he shared on Instagram: “Daaaaaaaaaa Moose!”
Royals left-hander Danny Duffy tweeted this: “Youre a bad bad man @Mooose_8”
