As the Sporting Kansas City injury concerns continue to mount, the club could be set to welcome back one of its starters Friday, when it faces Western Conference leader FC Dallas.

Midfielder Roger Espinoza returned to practice this week after sitting out the past two matches with a groin strain.

“These past two (practices) have been good. Everything feels good,” Espinoza said. “Hopefully I’m ready to go.”

The status of Dom Dwyer, on the other hand, remains in limbo. Dwyer has not trained with the team because of a neck injury he suffered Friday during practice. He sat out Saturday’s scoreless draw in Seattle.

Sporting KC coach Peter Vermes said Dwyer is questionable for Friday’s match.

With a victory Friday, Sporting KC would pull even with conference-leading FC Dallas.
