KC Mavericks return to ice, get hat trick in ECHL season opener at Cable Dahmer Arena

The Kansas City Mavericks got a hat trick from forward Jeremy McKenna Saturday night to beat visiting Tulsa 5-3 in their ECHL season opener at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence.

The Mavericks got their 2022-23 season underway in winning fashion on Saturday night in Independence, taking care of the visiting Tulsa Oilers 5-3 at Cable Dahmer Arena.

The Mavericks (1-0) got a hat trick from forward Jeremy McKenna, who scored once in the first period and twice in the second. Pascal LaBerge and Nate Knoepke scored Kansas City goals, as well, in the ECHL opener for both teams.

The Mavericks put 33 shots on goal to Tulsa’s 28.

Kansas City returns to action next Friday and Saturday against the Rapid City Rush in Rapid City, S.D. returning for a Tuesday, Nov. 1 home game against the Utah Grizzlies at Cable Dahmer Arena.
