Taylor Swift makes surprise post-engagement appearance with Travis Kelce at Arrowhead

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce brought a big week full circle by making their first public appearance as a betrothed couple at the place their love story began — GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Thursday night, Swift surprised fans by slipping into the stadium with little fanfare to join Kelce at the Nebraska Cornhuskers-Cincinnati Bearcats game.

The small group of fans who happened to catch her walking in yelled out “congratulations!” But it was nowhere near the loud and boisterous greeting she typically gets when she arrives at Chiefs games.

Taylor and Kelce announced their engagement Tuesday. Kelce proposed to the Eras Tour singer in his Johnson County backyard. According to his father, the couple was engaged for about two weeks before they shared the news publicly.

Kelce played football for the Ohio school, as did his brother, Jason Kelce, who also attended. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, joined Swift and the brothers in a suite.

The Kelce brothers greeted fans and posed for photos on the sidelines before the game. Swift wasn’t with them for their pregame fun, but her fans seemed excited to pose with her future husband.

By any account, this was a huge week for the Chiefs tight end.

It’s not often — ever? — a guy announces he’s engaged to the most well-known woman in the universe and launches a limited-edition clothing collection in the same week.

On Wednesday, Kelce announced a collaboration with American Eagle for a limited-edition line of sports apparel.

He didn’t wear any of it to the game, and to at least one fashionista who didn’t like the red-and-white striped Nike shirt he chose, maybe he should have.
