Eleven of the Chiefs’ 15 wins this season have come by eight points or fewer, a fact that hasn’t been lost on the oddsmakers.

The Chiefs are an 8-point favorite over the Texans in Saturday’s AFC Divisional playoff game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, according to BetMGM Sportsbook.

One of the Chiefs’ victories came on Dec. 21, when Kansas City beat the Texans by eight points in a regular-season meeting (27-19).

No surprise then that’s another factor for the betting line for this playoff game.

The Chiefs aren’t the biggest betting favorite in the divisional postseason round. The Detroit Lions are 8 1/2-point favorites against the Washington Commanders.

BetMGM put the over/under at 42 points.

During the regular season, the Chiefs were 8-9 against the spread, per Covers.com. The under has been the winning bet in five of the past six Chiefs games.

Houston had an 8-8-2 record against the spread, which includes the Texans’ 32-12 playoff win Saturday over the Chargers, Covers.com said. The over has been the winning bet in three of the Texans’ past four games.

Bill Speros of Bookies.com wrote this: “Both teams underperformed on the line. But the Chiefs crushed bettors all year. They went 8-9 ATS and 3-7 ATS in their final 10 games that mattered. The ‘Travis Kelce’ anytime TD was the most-bet player prop throughout the regular season, but he only scored 3 times. Houston gets the cover here, especially with the hook.”

If you’re thinking of betting on Kelce to score a touchdown, he reached the end zone in two of the Chiefs’ four postseason games last season. But he’s scored a touchdown in eight of his last 10 playoff games.

BetMGM has Kelce at +150 in the anytime TD odds, second only to Texans running back Joe Mixon (+115). Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco is third on that list at +160.
