With a blazing 4.21-second 40-yard dash at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, Kansas City Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy had the league’s attention.

Worthy set an NFL record before he stepped onto the field. He recorded the fastest 40 time in NFL Combine history. In April, the Pro Football Hall of Fame placed his jersey and cleats on display in Canton, Ohio.

It was a quick start to Worthy’s NFL journey. After a standout rookie season, Worthy is still enjoying life in the fast lane.

Worthy recorded 59 receptions for 638 yards and six touchdowns. He averaged 10.8 yards per catch and was a threat out of the backfield. Worthy added 104 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in 17 games.

That said, Worthy has acknowledged the learning curve at the NFL level. He told The Star that his goal was to develop through film study.

“Just showing it and putting it on film, to show that I’m learning and getting better from what happened the past week,” Worthy said in November. “So that’s just showing my ability to learn and correct things.”

In his last three games — leading up to the Week 18 finale — Worthy made 21 catches for 190 yards and two touchdowns. He logged 31 targets in that span with increased playing time.

Here is how Worthy stacked up alongside other pass catchers in the 2024 NFL rookie class:
