KC Chiefs’ roster moves before Chargers game includes elevating this fan favorite

The Chiefs have place wide receiver and return specialist Mecole Hardman on injured reserve and have activated Nikko Remigio to the 53-man roster.

Hardman suffered a knee injury on Friday, Andy Reid announced. On injured reserve, he’ll miss at least the next four games and won’t be eligible to return until the Week 18 game at the Denver Broncos.

The Chiefs play host to the Los Angeles Chargers today on “Sunday Night Football.” Kickoff is 7:20 p.m.

Remigio was a fan favorite during training camp as a wide receiver and return man. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Chiefs from Fresno State in 2023. He spent that year on the reserve/injured list with a wrist injury.

In the preseason, Remigio returned a punt 42 yards and averaged 33.3 yards on four kickoff returns. Special teams likely will be Remigio’s duty against the Chargers.

The Chiefs also activated linebacker Swayze Bozeman and tight end Baylor Cupp from the practice squad.
