Chiefs struggled in key area on 3-and-out vs. Bills. They got some rotten luck, too

The Kansas City Chiefs’ offense went three-and-out on a critical fourth-quarter possession in their 20-17 home loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

In this video, KC Star reporter Jesse Newell and Brett Taveau (author of the Chiefs book “Unpacking Greatness” and a longtime high school offensive coordinator) take a closer look at the two Patrick Mahomes passing plays on that drive and why they ended up falling incomplete.

It turns out the Chiefs’ biggest issue on those plays wasn’t the quarterback or receiver. Here are the details that went against KC on those two passes, which included a bit of bad luck as well.
