Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have been flexed out of prime-time.

The Chiefs’ upcoming game at New England, scheduled for Dec. 18 on Monday Night Football, will now be played on Dec. 17 at noon Central. The game will be televised on FOX (Channel 4 in Kansas City).

A game featuring the Philadelphia Eagles at Seattle Seahawks will take the place of the Chiefs-Patriots game in that Monday night slot..

Why the move? The Patriots’ record likely has something to do with it. New England stands 2-9, the AFC’s worst record. The Chiefs continue to lead the AFC West at 8-3.

The Chiefs are being flexed out of prime-time for a second straight year. In 2022, a Chiefs-Broncos game was shifted from Sunday Night Football to an afternoon kickoff in favor of a Chargers-Dolphins game.
