Here’s who won’t play for the Kansas City Chiefs in preseason opener at New Orleans
The Chiefs will carry an injury list of five players in the preseason opener on Sunday at New Orleans, Andy Reid said.
Out for the game are running back Isiah Pacheco, defensive tackle Tershawn “Turk” Wharton, tight end Jody Fortson, wide receiver Kadarius Toney and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.
All are starters or part of a regular rotation.
Pacheco has been involved in non-contact drills while wearing the same yellow jersey that quarterbacks wear.
Wharton started training camp on the PUP list, rehabbing from last season’s ACL injury. He was activated on Aug. 2 and getting practice snaps.
Fortson has missed time with a shoulder injury, and Toney suffered a knee injury on the first day of training camp. Sneed continues miss practice with a knee injury.
Also, defensive tackle Chris Jones, who is missing camp due to a contract dispute and collecting fines, won’t play.
Kickoff for Sunday’s game in New Orleans is set for noon Central.
