What will the weather be like for the Kansas City Chiefs parade? Here’s the forecast
Kansas City is expected to see a partly sunny Wednesday and possibly some wind gusts during the afternoon as Chiefs fans prepare to celebrate with a parade for the team’s Super Bowl win.
As many as 500,000 fans are expected to visit downtown Kansas City for a parade that kicks off at noon at Sixth Street and Grand Boulevard. The parade goes south on Grand until Pershing Road, where a victory rally will be held at Union Station at 1:45 p.m. with viewing opportunities from the north lawn of the National WWI Museum.
According to the National Weather Service for Kansas City, Wednesday’s high will be 42 degrees. Wind blowing from the northwest is predicted to be between 7 and 9 mph in the afternoon, though wind gusts may reach speeds of 22 mph.
Well after nightfall the Kansas City metro is expected to see some snow with a winter storm system expected to land around 11 p.m. Snowfall is expected to continue overnight into early Thursday and may present slick road conditions for the Thursday-morning commute.
