Chiefs open Arrowhead warming stations for Christmas Eve game to keep fans safe
The Kansas City Chiefs host the Seattle Seahawks at noon on Christmas Eve, and the team is opening up warming stations throughout GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for fans braving the weather to watch the holiday clash.
By the time the parking gates open, temperatures will be around in the single digits and warming to around 17 degrees as the game ends. It is expected to feel like it’s 15 degrees below zero at parts due to the wind chill. Fans can expect to see gusts up to 30 miles per hour.
There will be eight warming trailers in the parking lots at these spots:
Near parking gates 3- 4, 5 and 6
In lots B, C, D, F and G
Nine warming stations will be open inside the stadium:
One warming station will be at the bottom of each of the four spiral walkways
Near the Jim Beam bar on the north side of the upper level
Near the Crown Royal bar on the south side of the upper level
The Season Ticket Member Kickoff Countdown tent near gate G will be open to everyone
One on each side of the red zone on the upper levels
The Chiefs ask fans to bundle up and wear extra layers to cover any exposed skin. Fans are also able to bring in blankets, without zippers or compartments, along with portable chargers and non-dry cell batteries to power any heated apparel they’re wearing.

“I’ll throw that little neck-warmer thing that I always throw on. It doesn’t look great, but it keeps my neck warm,” Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said. “I’m not a big, like, throw-a-glove-on guy or anything like that, so that’s about it.”
