Happy NFL New Year!

Wednesday marks the first day of the NFL’s new calendar year, and there’s already been plenty of action in free agency. The Chiefs have signed safety Justin Reid, restructured defensive end Frank Clark’s contract and bid farewell to cornerback Charvarius Ward.

Meanwhile, the rest of the AFC West has loaded up with the additions of quarterback Russell Wilson (Denver Broncos) and defensive end Khalil Mack (Los Angeles Chargers).

Beat writer Herbie Teope has been posting all the Chiefs’ moves in our free-agency tracker at KansasCity.com. But he came up for air long enough to break down what we’ve seen so far in this episode of the SportsBeat KC podcast.
