The Chiefs unveiled plans for their championship flag and banner. Here are the details

The Chiefs have finalized plans to raise their championship banner and flag.

Twice.

The team will first display a new Super Bowl flag during an event exclusive to some season ticket members on Aug. 29, and then they will unveil an additional championship banner on the day of their season opener Sept. 10, before kicking off against the Texans.

A day after announcing their first three games will feature 22% capacity at Arrowhead Stadium — which equates to approximately 16,700 fans — the Chiefs revealed two “special season ticket member days” will be held at the stadium during training camp practices.

The initial event, scheduled for Aug. 22, will be open to a maximum of 2,000 members, and the second event, scheduled for Aug. 29, will house up to 5,000.

On Aug. 29, they will prop up a new championship flag on the flagpole above the west end zone, matching the Super Bowl IV commemoration.

Practices for both days start at 9:15 a.m.

All season-ticket holders who have opted to have their 2020 payment carry over to the 2021 season will be contacted about claiming a spot to one of the two events, the Chiefs said. Those selected will receive four tickets and a parking pass. The tickets cannot be transferred.

Fans will be required to wear masks, matching the policy outlined Monday, when the Chiefs announced their reduced capacity guidelines for the first three home games of the 2020 season. Those guidelines also including social distancing measures and a cashless payment system at points of sales locations at concession stands.
