It appears Chiefs safety Eric Berry is awaiting word from doctors to see where his health officially stands.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said two weeks ago that Berry has completed his treatments for Hodgkin lymphoma and would soon have his big “end-of-the-year” meeting with his doctors, but Reid said Friday that the initial meeting was just a precursor to his next meeting, where he find out what’s really going on with his health.

“He had a meeting with the doctors,” Reid said. “But the initial meeting I told you about was to give him answers about what’s next.”

Reid said Berry’s follow-up with the doctors should be held soon.

“It’s really this next meeting that they do that,” Reid said. “They normally do that … three weeks after that, so we’re getting about to that time.”
