Chiefs’ Jamaal Charles excused from Friday’s practice

Running back Jamaal Charles was excused from organized team activities on Friday so he could hold his youth football camp in Texas, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said.

Reid said he expects Charles back in time for the Chiefs’ three-day mandatory minicamp, which starts Tuesday.

Receiver Albert Wilson did not practice Friday due to a hamstring injury. He has not practiced since June 3.

Nose tackle Dontari Poe again missed practice with back spasms. He has not practiced since June 2.

Defensive tackle Vaughn Martin did not practice due to an ankle sprain.

Running back Charcandrick West left practice early Friday with a stinger.

Outside linebacker Dee Ford returned to practice Friday after missing Thursday’s practice for personal reasons.
