Chiefs-Broncos prediction: Does Kansas City sweep series with Denver?
The Kansas City Chiefs play host to the Denver Broncos on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs (6-1) look to maintain their top-seed status in the AFC.
The Broncos (3-4) had last four straight, including one to the Chiefs, until last week’s blowout victory at Arizona.
Kickoff: noon, Arrowhead Stadium
TV/Radio: CBS (Ch. 5)/KCFX (101.1 FM)
Line: Chiefs by 10 (This is first time since betting lines became widely available in 1985 that the Chiefs are a double-digit favorite against Denver.)
Blair Kerkhoff’s prediction: Chiefs 33-24
The Chiefs and Broncos meet for the second time in October, and Denver is out for revenge. The Chiefs’ 27-23 victory was especially painful for the Broncos, who blew a 10-point fourth-quarter lead. That was then. Denver is coming off a resounding victory at Arizona and has extra rest coming into this one. Look for the Broncos to attempt more pressure on Patrick Mahomes than any opponent this season. Denver is capable, with Von Miller and Bradley Chubb, who have combined for 14 of the team’s 22 sacks — tied for second in the NFL. Also, the Chiefs have suffered several offensive-line injuries and likely will start a third different center in three weeks. But says here the Chiefs will find a way to defeat their AFC West rival for the seventh straight time.
