Don’t get your hopes up about Patrick Peterson coming to the Chiefs
Patrick Peterson is not coming to Kansas City.
Days after requesting a trade from the Cardinals, the three-time All Pro corner announced that he was committed to staying in Arizona.
“I’ve been incredibly frustrated with how the season has gone,” he said in a statement released through his Twitter account. “But my energy is 100 percent focused on being part of the solution and helping us turn this around. I’ve never shied away from a challenge before and I’m not starting now. I have always given my all to the Cardinals organization, my teammates and fans. That is what I intend to do for the years to come. I am an Arizona Cardinal, and my focus is on this week’s game.”

Kansas City’s defensive deficiencies left many clamoring for Peterson over the last couple of weeks. That desire got more intense when Adam Schefter reported two days ago that Peterson had asked his team to trade him by the Oct. 30 trade deadline.

Peterson’s price tag was likely too steep for the Chiefs, but that didn’t stop fans in KC from campaigning for him.

Alas, if the Chiefs are bringing in defensive reinforcements, it likely won’t be in the form of Peterson.
