Royals’ season-ticket holders will see some changes when they receive their 2015 invoices soon.

Unlike previous years, partial season-ticket holders, those who buy a 20-game pack, will not be assigned an opening day seat.

For 2015 opening day, partial season-ticket holders will have the opportunity to select their own seats at a presale in February, before tickets are made available to the public.

“Instead of us picking the seat, you’ll get to pick your seat,” said Steve Shiffman, Royals senior director of sales and service. “Lower level, higher level, you’ll have that opportunity.”

The Royals have told partial season-ticket holders that higher demand for full (81 games) or half (41 games) season-ticket packages could mean no availability in the same section as their season ticket for opening day. But opening day will still be included in 20-game plans.

Also, there will be no Select-A-Seat day a Kauffman Stadium for season-ticket holders. Shiffman said those customers soon will be contacted by the Royals and given an opportunity to change seat location.

“Most people keep their seats, they’re happy with them,” Shiffman said. “And we are expecting a renewal rate close to 100 percent.”
