Here’s Jac Caglianone’s place in the Kansas City Royals lineup for his MLB debut
The Kansas City Royals have set their starting lineup for the pending debut of top prospect Jac Caglianone.
While Caglianone is expected to spend much of his time in right field, he will make his MLB debut batting sixth as the designated hitter against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Caglianone will wear No. 14 with the big-league club.
The Royals moved Maikel Garcia into the third spot, Vinnie Pasquantino fourth and team captain Salvador Perez fifth for Tuesday’s game.
Regulars Jonathan India and Bobby Witt Jr. remain 1-2 at the top of the lineup. Nick Loftin (seventh), Drew Waters (eighth) and Kyle Isbel (ninth) round out the bottom of the group.
In recent games, Waters, Mark Canha and John Rave have been slotted sixth. That spot comes after the most-often-used five of India, Witt, Pasquantino, Perez and Garcia.
KC plays three games against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium Tuesday-Thursday, with each beginning at 6:45 p.m. Central.
