Kansas City Royals announce 26-man MLB roster for 2025 opening day vs. Guardians

The Kansas City Royals begin the 2025 season against the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday at Kauffman Stadium.

First pitch is set for 3:10 p.m. Central.

Royals All-Star Cole Ragans will start the game. He was named the opening day starter for the second consecutive season.

The home opener will also be the Royals debut for infielder Jonathan India, utilityman Cavan Biggio and reliever Carlos Estévez.

Here is a look at the 2025 Royals roster.

Starters (5): LHP Cole Ragans, RHP Seth Lugo, RHP Michael Wacha, RHP Michael Lorenzen and LHP Kris Bubic

Relievers (8): RHP Carlos Estévez, RHP Lucas Erceg, RHP John Schreiber, RHP Hunter Harvey, RHP Chris Stratton, LHP Angel Zerpa, LHP Sam Long, LHP Daniel Lynch IV

Catchers (2): Salvador Perez, Freddy Fermin
