Royals

Royals fans will be able to watch these 10 games without cable or streaming in KC

You won’t need a cable subscription or a streaming service to watch some Royals games in the upcoming season.

Nearly the entire 162-game schedule that the Royals will play this year will be on FanDuel Sports Kansas City and available to stream through their app or on Amazon Prime. Bally Sports KC rebranded as FanDuel Sports Kansas City after last season.

But 10 games will also be simulcast on over-the-air channels in Kansas City, either on KCTV-5 or KSMO-TV (Ch. 62).

“We’re trying to find a way to put those games out there, kind of the way people used to watch our games, right?” Royals CEO/Chairman John Sherman said earlier this year. “Although I don’t think they got 162 that way. I think they had a game of the week back in the day.”

The Royals’ over-the-air broadcasts won’t be weekly, but there will be multiple games nearly every month from April to August.

Here are the 10 games that will be available to watch over the air.

Sunday, April 6: vs. Orioles, 1:10 p.m. (KCTV5 and KSMO)
