See fans gather at local watch parties to cheer on Royals in first playoff game since 2015

The good news for Kansas City Royals fans is that the Royals made it to the playoffs for the first time in nine years.

The bad news for fans is that all of the games against the Baltimore Orioles are being played in Baltimore.

Fortunately for the fans, several places hosted watch parties giving those faithful folks a chance to bond in the experience of supporting the Royals even if was from afar.

The long distance support may have helped the Royals as they held onto a 1-0 lead to defeat the Orioles.

The Star dropped in on a few of those watch parties. Here’s what we saw.
