Kansas City Royals’ series finale with Tigers postponed. Game will be played in July
Sunday’s Kansas City Royals game against the Detroit Tigers at Kauffman Stadium has been postponed and will be rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader on Monday, July 11, the club announced on Sunday morning.
The rescheduled game will be part of a doubleheader at Kauffman Stadium. The previously scheduled game will start at 1:10 p.m. and the originally scheduled game will follow at 7:10 p.m.
Tickets for the Sunday, April 17 postponed game will be honored for the rescheduled game, which will be Game 1 of the doubleheader on Monday, July 11. Fans do not have to exchange their original tickets if they chose to attend the rescheduled game.
The Royals (3-5) have a scheduled day off Monday. They’ll begin a series at home against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.
Right-hander Carlos Hernández was scheduled to start on Sunday. He’ll now start the series opener with the Twins on Tuesday.
Left-hander Daniel Lynch will start on Wednesday, and right-hander Zack Greinke will start on Thursday.
