Everyone has their list of greatest plays or moments in Kansas City sports history, or least their favorites. The Star is putting together one that asks the following question: Is this play or moment so profound that you remember where you were when it happened?

It could be from a Chiefs Super Bowl, a Royals World Series, a Final Four or a football bowl — a moment that likely changed the outcome and led to a huge victory.

The Star’s Pete Grathoff and SportsBeat KC host Blair Kerkhoff launched the list this week. On this episode of our daily sports podcast, they’re joined by columnists Sam Mellinger and Vahe Gregorian to talk about the selection process and some of those moments. Sam also explains his recent project chronicling the 50 most influential people — athletes, team owners and more — in Kansas City sports history.
