Olathe East lands at No. 21 in FAB 50 preseason softball rankings

After winning the Kansas Class 6A state championship last season, Olathe East is ranked No. 21 in the Student Sports FAB 50 preseason softball rankings. The Hawks finished the year with a 24-1 record.

The team returns three Kansas Softball Coaches Association All-State selections led by senior pitcher Allison Stewart who is headed to the University of Arkansas next year. Stewart, who is a two-time Gatorade Kansas Softball Player of the Year, batted .487 with 42 RBIs and had a 0.39 ERA. Senior center fielder McKenna Davis and senior second baseman Elizabeth Leonard join her as top returners.

Olathe East will start the season on April 3 against Shawnee Mission North.
