Shawnee Mission East edges Blue Valley West to claim Kansas 6A swim & dive title

There’s no question the top of the Kansas 6A boys state swimming and diving championships featured a healthy dose of KC-area competition.

Just start with the top-four team finishers.

Shawnee Mission East (290.5 points) finished ahead of Blue Valley West (270) to claim the team state championship. Blue Valley North (218.5) placed third, followed by Olathe Northwest (160) in fourth.

In Class 5-1A, Andover dominated the action, placing first with 379.5 points and featuring eight different top-two finishers in the various events.
