Kansas City-area high school football teams are inching closer and closer to the end of the regular season. And with another week in the books, it’s time for you to vote for your Player of the Week.

This season, The Star is holding a weekly poll for readers to vote on their chosen student-athlete in the Kansas City area.

Every Monday, after the games are finished, The Star asks high school football coaches around the Kansas City area to nominate players to be recognized. Nominees are included in a poll that is posted online each Wednesday, with voting open until Thursday night, and the winner announced each Friday.

Last week, readers selected Eudora High School’s Braylen Hoobler as The Star’s Player of the Week. The senior wide receiver and linebacker filled in at the fullback position and finished with 166 rushing yards and five touchdowns in Eudora’s 73-0 victory over Schlagle on Oct. 6.

This week, we heard from schools in Kansas City, Olathe, Grain Valley and more.

As they say: Vote early and vote often. You have until midnight Thursday night. Here are your nominees for Player of the Week.
