Kansas City-area high school football seasons are just a few weeks away from wrapping up, and it’s time to vote for your Player of the Week.

This season, The Star is holding a weekly poll for readers to vote on their chosen student-athlete in the Kansas City area.

Every Monday, after the games are finished, The Star asks high school football coaches around the Kansas City area to nominate players to be recognized. Nominees are included in a poll that is posted online each Wednesday, with voting open until Thursday night, and the winner announced each Friday.

Last week, readers selected Pembroke Hill High School’s Braden James as The Star’s Player of the Week. The junior tight end and linebacker finished with four receptions for 56 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score, in a 28-6 win over Hogan Prep on Sept. 30.

This week, we heard from schools in Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, Olathe and more.

As they say: Vote early and vote often. You have until midnight Thursday night. Here are your nominees for Player of the Week.
