Missouri adds Texas safety amid impressive recruiting stretch
Technically, Dekaney High safety Joshuah Bledsoe from Spring, Texas, committed to Missouri on Monday, but the pledge didn’t go public until late Tuesday night.
It still adds to incredible four-day run of verbal commitments for first-year coach Barry Odom’s program.
With the addition of Bledsoe, a 6-foot and 190-pound defensive back prospect, Missouri has landed seven commitments, including six in the 2017 recruiting class, since Saturday.
Bledsoe’s profile on Twitter indicates that he’s committed to Mizzou.
Bledsoe, who also shows coverage skills in the slot, is a 247 Sports three-star recruit and a two-star recruit, according to Scout. He’s unranked by ESPN and Rivals.
ESPN lists Bledsoe as having run a 4.76 40-yard dash in testing, but he appears to play faster than that on film and also flashes excellent hands and return skills.
Bledsoe also had offers from Louisiana at Monroe, North Texas, Rice, Southeastern Louisiana, Texas-San Antonio and Tulane, according to various recruiting services.
The dominoes for Missouri’s recent recruiting run started to fall during the “Night at the Zou” prospect camp at which Brother Rice offensive tackle Larry Borom from Detroit and Southwest High wide receiver Roderick Ford from Fort Worth, Texas.
On Sunday, the Tigers added a commitment from Blue Springs defensive end Daniel Parker Jr., who is the first commitment for the 2018 recruiting class.
Next came Bledsoe, though his commitment wasn’t initially made public Monday, followed by a trio of commitments on Tuesday.
First, Bessemer (Ala.) City linebacker Jamal Brooks committed, then Carrollton (Ga.) center Case Cook followed and late last night Whitehaven linebacker Aubrey Miller from Memphis gave Mizzou the trifecta.
The Tigers now have 11 known commitments in the 2017 class.
