Mizzou football lands Ole Miss wide receiver Cayden Lee from the transfer portal

Missouri added another proven offensive weapon out of the transfer portal Saturday, earning a commitment from former Ole Miss wide receiver Cayden Lee.

Lee brings immediate production to a Missouri receivers room that underwent significant turnover this offseason. Over three seasons with the Rebels, the Kennesaw, Georgia native totaled 106 receptions for 1,623 yards and seven touchdowns, appearing in 38 games. His most productive year came in 2024, when he caught 57 passes for 874 yards and two touchdowns, followed by a 44-catch, 635-yard season in 2025.

Lee played sparingly alongside Austin Simmons, Missouri’s recent quarterback addition from Ole Miss, but the two share a longstanding friendship dating back to their arrival in Oxford as part of the Rebels’ 2023 recruiting class. Simmons is expected to be Missouri’s starting quarterback entering the 2026 season.

At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Lee projects as an immediate contributor in Missouri’s revamped receiver rotation. The Tigers lost multiple key pass catchers from last season’s roster, prompting coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff to aggressively retool the position group through the portal.

Lee becomes Missouri’s fifth wide receiver addition this cycle, joining transfers Caleb Goodie (Cincinnati), Horatio Fields (Auburn), Naeshaun Montgomery (Florida) and Kenric Lanier II (Minnesota). He will also join a young returning core headlined by sophomore Donovan Olugbode as Missouri reshapes its offense heading into the 2026 season.

Mizzou adds Bobby Washington from Miami

Missouri also added linebacker Bobby Washington Jr., who signed with the Tigers out of the transfer portal after spending three seasons at Miami.

Washington appeared in 14 games during his time with the Hurricanes, recording seven tackles and half a sack while redshirting one season. The former three-star recruit out of Miami Palmetto High School will have two years of eligibility remaining as Missouri continues building its new-look defense.
