Did Mizzou just land a starting quarterback for 2025? Penn State’s Beau Pribula commits
The Missouri Tigers received an early Christmas gift on Sunday evening.
After weeks spent searching for a new quarterback, the Tigers landed a potential starter from the transfer portal. Penn State’s Beau Pribula committed to Missouri, a source with knowledge of the situation told the Centre Daily Times’ Jon Sauber.
247Sports’ Matt Zenitz first reported the news.
Pribula chose Missouri after visits to Ole Miss, Iowa and UCF. He also had planned a trip to Indiana that was canceled.
A dual-threat quarterback from York, Pennsylvania, Pribula has been the backup to Drew Allar at Penn State. He completed 26 of 35 passes for 275 yards, five touchdowns and an interception this season. He also scored four rushing touchdowns.
In 2023, Pribula ran for 329 yards and six touchdowns. He also had four touchdowns through the air that year, his redshirt-freshman season.
Pribula’s best performance this season came in a 28-13 victory over Wisconsin, when he stepped in for Allar after an injury. The 6-foot-2, 206-pound sophomore completed 11-of-13 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 28 yards.
The three-star quarterback is ranked as the No. 12 signal caller and No. 100 overall player in the 247Sports Transfer Rankings. During his recruitment while at Central York (Penn.) High School, he was ranked the No. 27 quarterback in the Class of 2021 by 247Sports.
Pribula brings some answers to a quarterback room that held a lot of questions. With quarterback Brady Cook spending one final game with the Tigers in the Music City Bowl against Iowa, Missouri will need a new face for its program in 2025.
Graduate quarterback Drew Pyne backed up Cook this season but saw limited playing time. Redshirt freshman Sam Horn missed the entire 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, leaving uncertainty about how quickly he can return to form next year.
Missouri’s promising recruit, incoming QB Matt Zollers, is recovering from an ankle injury he sustained during his senior season and will likely need a year to adjust to the college system.
Pribula’s addition could provide Missouri with the balance it has been seeking after a season marked by ongoing offensive connectivity issues.
